Our Finishes

Mirror Polishing

Mirror polishing is a several stage, step by step process using a wide range and various grades of polishing mops and soaps producing a high class prestige finish.

Bead Blasting – Vaqua Blast Jupiter

High pressure water jet mixed with micro abrasive beads is an extremely cost effective method of finishing. It can be utilised to remove the colour produced from welding and to provide a uniform clean finish.

Graining / Brushed Finishing

A brushed finish can be applied for aesthetics. Many materials are available from stock with this finish applied, but may require re-polishing after such fabrication methods as welding.

Powder Coating

An electrostatic charge is passed through the component, to which dry powder is attracted. Once sufficient coverage has been achieved the component goes through an oven to bake on and harden the powder. See our powder coating RAL colour chart.

Plating

A dip process used to protect and prevent the surface of the material from corrosion. Yellow & silver passivate zinc.

Galvanising

Hot dip galvanisation is a method of coating a finished fabrication with zinc to prevent it from rusting.

Frequently Asked Questions

What finishing can you do in-house?
In-house we weld-dress and clean, polish to mirror, satin or brushed finishes, and bead blast for an even matt texture. Coated finishes — powder coating, plating and galvanising — are handled through our finishing service.
Do you offer powder coating?
Yes, in the full range of RAL colours, as part of a managed finishing service. It comes back to us and out to you as one finished job, so you deal with one supplier rather than chasing a coater yourself.
Can you plate or galvanise parts?
Yes — bright zinc plating (BZP) and other electroplated finishes, plus hot-dip galvanising, are available through our finishing service. Tell us the environment the part lives in and we’ll recommend the right protection.
What stainless finishes can you achieve?
Brushed, satin and mirror polish, and bead-blasted matt. We can match an existing finish on a repair or extension piece if you send a sample.
Will a bead-blasted or polished stainless part still resist corrosion?
Yes, provided the grade suits the environment — 304 for general use, 316 for marine or chemical exposure. We also clean and passivate welds so corrosion resistance isn’t compromised at the joints.
Why get finishing done with the fabrication rather than separately?
One supplier manages the whole job — cut, fold, weld and finish — so the part arrives protected and ready to fit, with one point of responsibility and no coordinating between shops. Few fabricators offer the full range under one roof.
What finish should I choose for outdoor or wet conditions?
Powder coating over the right primer, hot-dip galvanising, or 316 stainless are the usual choices for outdoors and wet areas. Tell us where the part will live and we’ll advise.
