Superior Precision with Laser Cutting and Profiling

Large projects that require custom crafted components can be difficult to produce. At SAMS Fabrications, we offer our customers superior precision with our laser cutting and profiling service. Achieve a higher quality outcome to your custom specifications and enjoy reduce wastage and lower manufacturing costs. Our laser cutting facility features cutting edge equipment that can handle even the largest jobs with ease and accuracy.

What Are the Benefits of Laser Cutting?

The biggest benefit of laser cutting to the end user is the exquisite precision the process offers, but you will also see major benefits in other areas. Laser cutting keeps manufacturing costs down as it can reduce the need for expensive tools and machining while keeping your metal wastage low. Complex shapes are no problem, as our innovative laser cutting equipment allows you to cut even the smallest shapes. With a capacity of 4000 x 2000mm and compatible with a range of materials, SAMS Fabrications will ensure that you are completely satisfied with the results.

Consistent Results with Our Laser Profiling Service

No matter how unique or complex your design, the laser cutting and profiling service offered by SAMS Fabrications will deliver the exact results with consistency. We use a nesting process to allow you to save even more while still achieving the precision you need. If additional work is required, such as forming or embossing, then the team at SAMS Fabrications will ensure that you know the options available.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the maximum thickness you can laser cut?
Our laser cutting handles mild steel up to 40mm, stainless steel up to 25mm and aluminium up to 20mm, on sheets up to 4000 × 2000mm. If your part is thicker or larger than that, talk to us — we can usually profile it another way or split the fabrication.
Which materials can you laser cut?
Mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass and copper are all cut regularly. If you’re not sure which grade suits the job — 304 versus 316 stainless, for example — send us the application and we’ll advise.
How accurate is your laser cutting?
We hold a cutting tolerance of around ±0.25mm on profile work, well inside what most fabrication and enclosure work needs. Tighter features can be reamed, punched or machined to final size where required.
Can you cut from my CAD file, or just a drawing?
Both. We nest and cut directly from DXF and DWG files, and we can also work from a PDF drawing, a paper sketch or a physical sample — we’ll turn it into a cutting file for you.
Do laser-cut parts come deburred and ready to use?
Parts come off the bed with clean, square, burr-free edges suitable for most work. Where a part needs a handled or polished edge, we finish it in-house as part of the job.
Do you cut one-offs and prototypes, or only production runs?
Both — from a single prototype or replacement part through to full production batches. Nesting multiple parts onto one sheet keeps the cost down on larger quantities.
Can you laser cut and then fold, weld and finish the part?
Yes. Cutting is usually the first step — we then punch, fold, weld, roll and finish in-house, so you get the completed fabrication from one supplier rather than coordinating several.
How much does laser cutting cost?
It depends on material, thickness, cut length and quantity, so we quote per job. Send us your drawing or file and we’ll come back with a price, usually the same or next working day.
