SAMS Fabrications Ltd recognises that our work as a metal fabricator has an impact on the environment, and we are committed to managing and reducing that impact wherever we reasonably can. This policy sets out the practical steps we take across our Norwich workshop and our wider operations.
Our commitment
We are committed to:
- Recycling our metal — steel, stainless steel and aluminium offcuts and swarf are segregated and sent for recycling rather than to landfill.
- Reducing material waste — using efficient CNC nesting and careful job planning so we get the most from every sheet.
- Recycling other waste — recovering cardboard, packaging and office waste for recycling where practical, and reusing packaging where we can.
- Responsible disposal — handling and disposing of consumables, chemicals and coolants safely and in line with the relevant regulations.
- Using energy sensibly — maintaining our machinery so it runs efficiently, and looking to reduce energy use across the workshop over time.
- Sourcing responsibly — buying from reputable suppliers, favouring UK sources where we can, and combining deliveries to cut unnecessary transport miles.
- Meeting our obligations — complying with applicable environmental legislation as a minimum standard.
- Improving over time — reviewing how we work and looking for practical ways to do better.
Responsibility and review
Responsibility for this policy rests with the management of SAMS Fabrications Ltd, and every member of our team is encouraged to work in line with it and to suggest improvements. This policy is reviewed regularly to make sure it remains appropriate to our business.
